Dear Exhibitors:
Hundreds of dental manufacturers, suppliers and professional service vendors participate in our Scientific Sessions and each partnership is vital to the success of our annual meetings. Participating in our tradeshows provides you a unique selling opportunity to meet face-to-face with members of the California Dental Association and thousands of dental trade professionals, your target audience!
The Scientific Sessions Board of Managers and staff strive to enhance our meetings and ensure each Session is a dental convention like no other! The 2008 Spring Scientific Session will feature enhancements such as corporate forums, a product launch venue, numerous featured lecturers and amenities such as pre-paid parking vouchers and meal tickets. More information on these enhancements will be included in your booth confirmation packet to be mailed in mid-December.
I hope you enjoy CDA Connection and find it informative. As always, feel free to contact me if you have any questions, comments or concerns, or if you just want to talk about how to improve your CDA Sessions experience.
Sincerely,

Sue Gardner
Exhibits Manager

Increase Your Profile at CDA Spring Session
CDA Session sponsorships offer exhibitors a fantastic opportunity to interact with attendees, raise awareness of your presence and make a big impact. A limited number of sponsorships are still available for the Spring Session. Advertising in the On-Site Guide, CDA’s only show publication, and the pre-show editions of the Journal of the California Dental Association and Update are other effective methods to drive traffic to your booth. Check out the link above for a list of sponsorship opportunities and advertising options, or contact Corey Gerhard at 916.554.5304 or corey.gerhard@cda.org.

Feature Your New Products, Services and Technology at CDA Spring Show
CDA is developing a forum for new products and services at the 2008 Spring Scientific Session. CDA attendees have let us know that learning about new products and technology are one of the aspects they are most interested in seeing at our meeting. Media representatives will also be there to report what is new in the industry. Please let us know if your company is planning to launch a product, service or technology at the CDA Spring Session. We also encourage you to provide your feedback on what type of forum you would like CDA to showcase these innovations in dentistry. Please e-mail your information to sue.gardner@cda.org.

GES Shipping Tips
GES is proud to be CDA’s general services contractor. We provide a range of services that includes shipping, freight handling, labor, furnishings, electrical, rental units and more. In this edition of CDA Connection, we would like to assist you in reviewing your shipping needs.
Be sure that you select the right carrier for your type of shipment. Common carriers can provide economical service for crated goods. However, keep in mind that they do not generally deliver on weekends. Van lines provide air-ride vans, but often mix the exhibiting company’s items to pack as many pieces in a van as possible. This is often referred to as "maxing out the cube." This can translate into additional charges from GES as it takes time to sort and shift all the pieces.
Specialized carriers including UPS and FedEx can provide economical shipping for small packaged goods but they often split a shipment in the delivery process. Remember that GES requires a 200 pound minimum per shipment or additional charges will be incurred. Therefore, it is to your advantage to ship one large unit rather than several small ones.
Always keep track of what carrier was used for all your different shipments and get the "pro" number or tracking number. This vital piece of information can make the difference between locating your shipment with the carrier or not. Remember that GES is here to help you.
