Message from our Signaling Systems Product Management
The rapid acceleration of the deployment of new mobile services, and the evolution to VoIP are two factors driving the exponential traffic growth we are seeing today. Wireless and wireline service providers must keep pace with this increased demand by growing and evolving their networks. Such rapid change is not without its challenges, not the least of which is the ability to leverage existing infrastructure while cost effectively rolling out new services.
Performance Technologies continues to keep pace with these new challenges and is revolutionizing how service providers think about their networks. For instance, we see continued investment in legacy large-scale core nodes declining in favor of smaller, cost-effective intelligent IP-Edge systems distributed across a network. Whether a service provider is faced with the challenge of replacing legacy nodes or expanding network capacity, solutions that accomplish these daunting tasks seamlessly and without jeopardy are in high demand. Point Code Emulation provides the tools needed to get the job done efficiently.
A new feature in our eNewletter is the Tech Tip with hands-on advice from our team of experts. The tip this month comes from my colleagues in our Embedded Systems group where advances in carrier-grade embedded Linux and standards-based platform architectures continue to drive the development of communications applications.
I hope you find this month's Packets & Signals informative, and encourage you to visit our learning section for more in-depth industry information. |
