More than $1 Million Raised for Peg Dolan, RSHM Campus Ministry Center
On Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008, Peg Dolan, R.S.H.M., whose influence has been felt by countless students and alumni for more than three decades, was honored for her example of service and commitment to Loyola Marymount University. More than 700 people, including members of Sister Peg's family and her friends, gathered at Regents Terrace for the dedication of the Peg Dolan, RSHM Campus Ministry Center. During the ceremony, university officials announced that $1 million had been raised toward the $5 million goal, an amount that will sustain and expand campus ministry programs. Hilton Distinguished Entrepreneur Lecture Series
Mark Kuli '91 will be the keynote speaker on Nov. 12 at 6 p.m. in Hilton 100. In his address Kuli, who started his printing business following the death of basketball star Hank Gathers, will give a detailed account of his humble beginnings as a student with big dreams in the entrepreneurship program. Black Student Union Celebrates its 40th
President Robert B. Lawton, S.J., presented an award to the Black Student Union on behalf of LMU to mark the BSU's 40th anniversary and recognize the organization's commitment to service, leadership and social justice. Harold Brooks '70, the first BSU president; Veronika de Hayes '71, JD '76, a founding member of BSU, and the current BSU president Randi Willhite '10 were on hand to accept the award.
