The Leon Root, MD Pediatric Outreach Program: 20th Anniversary Celebration
On May 27, 2008, HSS celebrated 20 years of the Pediatric Outreach Program. This musculoskeletal screening program has examined over 23,000 of New York City's medically underserved children and referred 3,500 for free or low cost follow-up care. The program was formally dedicated and named in honor of Leon Root, MD, Attending Orthopedic Surgeon, who founded the program at HSS in 1987. Learn more

In Vivo Radiographic Validation of Novel EMED Plantar Pressure Masking Algorithm Jonathan T. Deland, MDThis study seeks ten healthy males and females with normally aligned feet. These subjects will undergo a series of painless tests, such as walking across a special sensor that registers footprints (with and without applied foam rubber pads) and undergoing x-rays. The investigation requires only one visit, which is expected to last about 90 minutes. Learn more
