Forward to a Colleague
March 30, 2006
Dear Fellow Advocate-

As Working 2 Walk gets closer, U2FP's appreciation for our participants grows. We've been blessed with a lot of people that "get it"...people that understand why such events are a sound investment of their time and money. If you know other people that might "get it", feel free to use the "Forward To A Colleague" feature above.

The W2W Science Symposium on April 30 will do more than inform us about current science. When we meet with scientists, we instill in them a sense of urgency that an injured rat never will. Our support and encouragement provide an incentive that even money and fame don't. The Advocacy Symposium on May 1 will not only prepare us to meet our legislators. It will present ways for us to work for the cure the rest of the year, too.

So, fellow advocate, we thank you for being willing to fight this battle with us. Christopher Reeve once said "Stand up for those who can't." Just like him, many of us can't physically stand. But just like him, every one of us can fight.

We thank you for being a soldier!
Sincerely,
Unite 2 Fight Paralysis

Here's the lowdown on
grassroots lobbying (.pdf file).
See here why lobbying in person is the most effective way we can make a difference in DC! Let's work together for passage of the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Act this year!

Come to Baltimore on the W2W free afternoon, May 1. Meet leaders in the fields of Spinal Cord Injury and Stem Cells; John W. McDonald, III, M.D., PhD (lead neurologist to Christopher Reeve) and John Gearhardt, PhD. Just a 30 minute train ride from DC, the International Center for Spinal Cord Injury is devoted to restoration of sci and paralysis, offering hope even to chronic injuries. This is an excellent chance to tour the lab and meet the doctors as they present their inaugural workshop "Advanced Restorative Therapies: From Bench to Lifelong Therapy". RSVP requested, special invitation found here!
