Rheumatoid Arthritis: New Targeted Treatments
Free Online CME Program

Because the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) inhibitors have been so successful in treating RA, many clinicians are interested in how the newer agents fit into a treatment plan that includes anti-TNF agents. HSS program faculty describe the major immunologic mechanisms that both lead to rheumatoid arthritis and are potential targets for treatment; choose the most effective, responsive and most practical disease activity measures to assure the best outcome; and recognize the modern and effective treatment options for RA and when to employ them. Management of the Upper Extremity in Children with Cerebral Palsy

This course will provide practical research tools and information, evaluation tools, surgical methods, and rehabilitation protocols through the use of didactic morning sessions and interactive afternoon workshops. A Phase 3, Multi-Center, Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled 76 Week Study to Evaluate the Efficacy and Safety of Belimumab (GHS1006, LymphoStat-B), A fully Human monoclonal Anti-BlyS Antibody, in Subjects with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE)

To evaluate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of belimumab in subjects with SLE, and to evaluate the impact of belimumab on quality of life in subjects with SLE, six patients will be enrolled and followed for a year and a half. Patients must have active lupus despite treatment at the time of enrollment. Learn more

Anatomic Abnormalities of the Hip in Femoroacetabular Impingement: An MRI-Based Study

Supraclavicular vs. Interscalene Brachial Plexus Block for Shoulder Surgery
Christopher A DiMeo, MD

Sixty patients undergoing shoulder surgery within a one year period will be randomized to one of two different ultrasound guided nerve block techniques to study the related side effect profile.
