Wright or Wrong?

Reverend Jeremiah Wright has been complaining that the media has taken his comments out of context and playing them over and over on a continuous loop. That's why Glenn decided to play an entire sermon given by 'pastor' Wright, one that was given on Palm Sunday in 2003. It's pretty amazing stuff---and you can hear it all free to decide for yourself if the Reverend is a hate monger or if the media is over hyping his sermons. Free Audio: listen here.

Black Liberation Theology

Also, Obama says he is just denouncing the comments by Wright, not him or the church. The only problem with that is the church subscribes to Black Liberation Theology, something that was started by the Black Panther movement. In case you missed it, here is the special report we did on the theology of Obama's church---Black Liberation Theology.

John McCain

Senator John McCain called into the program yesterday to talk about his campaign and what he's been doing while Hillary and Obama have been battling for the Democratic nomination. Glenn was a Romney supporter---will the Senator be able to win Glenn's vote? Check out the full interview here: Read the transcript. (Insiders listen here).

Ben Stein

Tonight on TV Glenn sits down for a full hour with actor, author, and economist Ben Stein to talk about everything from the economy to Ben's new movie: Expelled. Don't miss it, tonight at 7 and 9pm ET.
In the Event of My Untimely Demise
In the Event of My Untimely Demise

If you haven't heard about In the Event of My Untimely Demise by now, well, that means you don't watch Glenn on TV, listen to him on the radio, read his newsletters or subscribe to Fusion. Aside from Glenn flying to your house, landing on your lawn and ringing your doorbell - I don't know what else he can do. I'm not saying he won't do that, but it's not his favorite thing because he'd much rather be at home playing poker with the wife and kids.

With Glenn's immense help, In the Event of My Untimely Demise has climbed up the Amazon.com Humor and Parenting & Family Humor charts. I'm as excited the Macarena guys were when the Macarena caught fire and got people to do that ridiculous arm dance thing. When Glenn gets mad about illegal immigration, I know he's talking about people like that who would come here, take our disco jobs and make us dance like idiots.

You can download an excerpt from In the Event of My Untimely Demise to get a taste for the book. (Download Chapter 2: "High, Reasonable Hopes" here). It's filled with what I hope might be considered wisdom and insight. And it's probably one of the only books where you'll find the line "a camouflaged Gary Coleman with a sniper rifle" nestled comfortably in one of the paragraphs. You'll also learn about the "World Without Money" speech delivered one too many times by an ex-roommate, and why film school was primarily spent writing essays about the Empire State Building being a vulgar symbol of patriarchal oppression. The book will also help you categorize your friends and enemies better. And there's a story about Poo Poo Man.

I like to think In the Event of My Untimely Demise makes a great gift for any of the holidays created by the greeting card companies. The cover is red enough to be seen by rescue choppers, should you find yourself stranded on a mountain and inexplicably carrying my book. And it's hard enough to deflect low-velocity projectiles.

I hope you like it, because it likes you.
