My Journey to Liberation: A teenager's reflection on re-discovering the joy of homeschooling By Willow McMahon
I am sixteen years old and have liberated myself from public school, after attending for little less than three years. My first school experience was at the age of seven when I was enrolled in 2nd grade at a small school in our hometown. Up to that point, I had been homeschooled, fluctuating from child-directed to mother-directed learning styles.

The Good Old Days by Tisha McMeekin
I received an email from my grandfather; it was an ironic lamentation of times past in the guise of humor. A page full of cartoon depictions and things mentioned, like: "Remember when there was no need for filters on your television because prime-time shows were I Love Lucy, Lassie and Ozzie and Harriet?" There was no air-conditioning, just open windows; so when a child fell off his/her bike, every Mom in the neighborhood ran outside to make sure he/she was alright.

Let's face it, the importance of computers in our lives increases the importance of being able to type. It is no longer reasonable to think that "hunt and peck" typing will suffice in today's electronic age. When I first learned to type (sometime just after the extinction of dinosaurs), the popular method of learning was to sit in front of a typewriter (no computers available in those days) and practice each letter using the left hand and then each letter using the right hand.
