LiteRise(R) Installation Tips

In September, the Honeycomb Business Unit launched a new universal headrail design for Applause(R) and Duette(R) LiteRise(R) products. The new design incorporates a fabric covered headrail and a light block strip for inside mounts. The new design of the headrail necessitated a new design for the mounting bracket also.

When the headrail is properly installed in the brackets, it is a very secure mount. However, there have been cases where installers thought they had the headrail installed, only to receive a call from the customer saying the headrail had come out of the brackets. We have identified that when installing the headrail, you may hear a snap and think the headrail is locked into the brackets when it is not. It is important that you visually inspect each bracket to make sure the tabs on the bottom of the bracket engage the headrail.

LiteRise shades that you receive in the future will have a sticker on the protective plastic covering the headrail, stating you need to check the brackets for proper headrail installation. It notes other situations that can make it difficult or impossible to install the headrail. Andy Irwin, the manager of the Professional Installer Program SM and Rob Power, a Certified Professional Installer SM instructor, take you through all you need to know about the new LiteRise headrail and bracket in a special Technically Speaking video. Special Edition

LiteRise brackets for Duette and Applause shades come in two sizes: the smaller bracket is used for 3/8" pleat products and the larger bracket is used for 3/4" and 1-1/4" pleat shades. The brackets are identical except for the depth of the bracket, with the 3/8" bracket having a shorter minimum mounting depth.
