White Paper: Point Code Emulation(TM)
Performance Technologies now offers Point Code Emulation (PCE) on its SEGway(TM) platforms. PCE is designed as an efficient SS7 network reconfiguration tool for moving and sharing point codes to transparently retire legacy switches and migrate SS7 traffic to new softswitches without risk or service disruption. For service providers looking to deploy multiple nodes under a single point code in the PSTN, the SEGway PCE node also operates as a switch consolidator, allowing the provider to grow their network transparently.
