Working 2 Walk 2007-Last Update!
The time is nearly here for the Working 2 Walk 2007 Symposium and Rally! In less than a week, people from all over the globe will be meeting in Washington DC with a very important mission-learning all they can to further the goal of finding a cure for paralysis.

If you are planning to attend, we at Unite 2 Fight Paralysis hope that you are growing excited as you plan and pack. If you can't be there, we hope you have done what you could to pave the way for us. Your letters to legislators will be very persuasive when our face-to-face presence reinforces your message.

For those attending, we hope you've laid the groundwork and done your homework for the upcoming trip. It is usually beautiful in DC at this time of year, but the weather has been unusual nationwide. Remember to check the weather in DC before you pack! As of Monday, April 16, the predictions are for mid-to-high 60's, mostly sunny. Your trip will be easier, safer and less stressful if you know where you are and where you're headed...Study and print the W2W maps before you leave home. Check your destination airport for ground transportation as you sit at your computer at home; you'll feel better if you know there is an accessible ride to your hotel when you need it. Print a copy of the W2W schedule too, so you'll know what's going on.

U2FP is wrapping up the final details of all the scheduled events. Venues are arranged, catering ordered, stages and ramps and banners abound. The speaker list at the W2W Symposium ensures that you will be well-informed for the next year of paralysis cure advocacy. Your efforts to arrange visits with your elected officials will not be in vain. If you haven't yet done so, it may not be too late. Nothing could be more important when you travel to Capitol Hill than seizing the moment to make your beliefs known to those paid to represent you.

S. 5 (Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act) passed the Senate 63-34, with 3 abstaining. It is unbelievably close to a veto-proof vote. (See how your Senators voted) The Christopher and Dana Reeve Paralysis Act (HR 1727) has been introduced in the House with bipartisan support. This is a GREAT time for us to be going to Washington.

Please take a moment to peruse the W2W 2007 Sponsor list (bottom of page), and resolve to support this year's sponsors. Their contributions make this opportunity a reality. All the speakers at Working 2 Walk deserve our support as well. We can't overstate our appreciation. Finally, U2FP is grateful to the advocates that make events like Working 2 Walk worthwhile. Each of you is a star.

If you are a person that makes last-minute decisions, it is not too late to register. We'd be happy to see you and we think you'd be glad you came.

Whatever you decide about Working 2 Walk 2007, U2FP thanks you for your participation throughout the year. Together we can, and we will, pull closer to the finish line.

Sincerely,

Your Friends at
Unite 2 Fight Paralysis

New W2W 2006 Video!

The Working 2 Walk 2006 rally video has been revised and is posted on Paralysis.org. It's so fun to watch, reminisce about good times and revel in happy anticipation of more to come. Thanks to the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation for alerting us!
