Note to Our Members

Gail’s email box wigged out and all of her electronic correspondence for the last year is lost.  This is of great concern because she had retained messages from many of you, some of which still require action or response.

Please, if you’ve sent Gail an email inquiry or request that may still require follow-up, resend the message to her or give her a call at (615) 435-5060.

Greeting from 2007/2008 Chair

We are an organization of aspiration
and the light is shining.”

A good leader casts the light back on the people.

This is precisely my intention as I accept the gavel and assume the role of your 2007-08 Chair of the Association of Healthcare Administrative Professionals.

For the many of you who attended the 2007 Annual Conference, I hope you were inspired to your full potential and went home with a renewed sense of your own professional value.  For those of you who could not join us, I explained my platform as journeying toward a different leadership style that embraces Servant Leadership, where we lead and serve from the heart first.  This leadership style is formally known as Servant Leadership.

As we begin on our journey this coming year, we will walk down many paths together; and, our shoes will lead us all in a common destination.  Like each of us … shoes have souls that are durable, resilient, and although sometimes wore thin by the roads we travel, they can be mended in time with the strengths of those cobblers in our lives.  Sometimes a smart looking pair of shoes will pinch and be hard to fill … like many of the professional roles we assume.  Over time, our shoe size will expand and so will our knowledge, our relationships, and our careers.  Shoes also have laces and ties, like the ties that bind us to our responsibilities as professionals to encourage success, strength and learning new ways as in … leadership “through new eyes”.

I look forward to serving AHCAP this year as it Chair.  I definitely have very big shoes to fill.   I invite you to join all of us as we lead and serve … and grow one another.

Deanne Rubenzer
AHCAP 2007-08 Chair
