What To Expect at W2W 2007...

Unite 2 Fight Paralysis has been receiving inquiries about space remaining at the Working 2 Walk Symposium. It's not too late to register! There is space remaining at this exciting event for advocates dedicated to finding a cure for paralysis!

On Sunday, April 22, be sure to bring your photo ID to the W2W Symposium at the Ronald Reagan Intl. Trade Center in Washington DC. Marble floors, a dedicated subway stop, and fine cuisine will ease the way as we focus on the topic at hand-the state of current paralysis cure research. Both educational and inspirational, Working 2 Walk presents some of the leading minds in research, industry and advocacy. This year's roundtable format will encourage interaction, and result in information that WE-the survivors that deal daily with paralysis-can use every time we push for a cure!

Monday, April 23, leaves the morning open for attendees to take in the sights of Washington in springtime, or to visit their legislators in support of the Working 2 Walk Legislative Agenda. Monday afternoon we will meet at the Washington Plaza to enjoy an Open House hosted by Kennedy Krieger Institute. (See sidebar for more details.)

Tuesday, April 24, we will rally together at Upper Senate Park on Capitol Hill. This 3rd springtime rally of cure paralysis advocates, emceed by Darryl (Chill) Mitchell, offers musical performances by ProfessirX and Todd Phillips, and speakers including Sam Schmidt and several prominent national politicians. The Rally is the best warm-up imaginable for an energetic lobbying afternoon on Capitol Hill!

The 110th Congress will be refreshed after their spring recess, and April will be an ideal time for us to visit DC. The Christopher and Dana Reeve Paralysis Act (HR 1727) was just introduced in the House of Representatives. The Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act of 2007 is also up for another Senate vote in April. It's time to be making those appointments with your legislators about these issues. The W2W site has everything you need to begin the appointment-making process.

The Working 2 Walk website is being updated regularly. Information on Lodging, Maps and Transportation, Updated Schedules, Registration- It's all here!

Working 2 Walk 2007 Souvenir Shirts are still available. This won't last long! Supplies are running low on certain styles/sizes. Home delivery before W2W is no longer guaranteed, but shirts will be available for sale on Sunday and Monday.

We hope to see you in Washington this year. It is a beautiful season to visit the nation's capitol, and it is time for our legislators to again hear our voice. There is a cure for paralysis on the horizon...but we'll have to fight to get there. Unite 2 Fight Paralysis presents Working 2 Walk in hopes that it will arm us for that fight, and inspire us until we are victorious.

Sincerely,
Your Friends at
Unite 2 Fight Paralysis
