For Our Clients & Their Families
MAKING IT EASY TO "SPREAD THE WORD!"
How many times have we heard you say, "I know someone who needs
to come here!" ?
A lot! So to show we've been listening and to encourage your
referrals, we are piloting a "Spread the Word! Referral Program,"
designed to make it easy for you to recommend Career Vision to others
and to thank you for your help in spreading the word.
Here's how it works:
- Call us to request your three savings certificates valued at
$25.00. Just complete the certificates and give them to friends and
family members who you think would benefit NOW from career and
college major guidance from Career Vision.
- As a thank you for helping us "Spread the Word," we'll send you
a $25.00 Visa® gift card for each new client who presents your gift
certificate. You can apply it toward any of our consulting services
for yourself, or spend it as you wish.
We think this makes everyone a winner! Who do you know who needs
Career Vision? Call or
email Paula Kosin,
Marketing Manager, to request your savings certificates today.

Spotlighting America's Hottest Jobs
"And the award goes to...".
Recently the spotlight shined brightly on the best motion picture
for 2007. Do you recall which film won? If you answered "The
Departed," you're right. If you answered "Babel," you're right. So
which of these two films was the best in 2007? It all depends on
which "winner's list" you're reading - "The Departed" took the
Academy Award while "Babel" captured the Golden Globe.
When you shine the spotlight on our growing job market, you'll
see that several different "winner's lists" are used to describe
America's hottest jobs. So, how do you spot the real winners? Check
to see which "winner's list" you're reading.
"Hot jobs" are ranked in many ways. Taking center stage are two
key job growth measures used by the U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau
of Labor Statistics (BLS): fastest growth and largest growth. Here's
an overview of the jobs projected to have the most growth between now
and 2014:

6 Sizzling Summer Job Resources
Your first summer job. Was it heavenly? Or horrible?
Summer jobs are often the place where students acquire basic Career
Literacy(TM) knowledge and skills. They learn self-management
skills when they show up on time, people and problem-solving skills
when they calm an upset customer, and technical skills when they ring
up a charge card transaction.
A summer job experience may be life-changing as students are
introduced to career fields that captivate their interest. They may
encounter challenges that develop new skills. Their experiences can
clarify what they like - and what they detest. Many jobs drive home
the point better than any parent that it is important to stay in
school and earn a career certificate, a degree, or enter an
apprenticeship program after high school.
Here are six excellent resources for students looking for work -
and parents who want to help them:
1. The
"Summer/Part-Time Job Tip Sheet"
was created for our popular presentation, "How to Help Your Teen Find
a Summer Job." It provides suggestions for jobs and where to find
them as well as proven tips that can give a student a competitive
advantage over other job seekers.

Career Vision & the Career Resource Center: Partners in Re-Careering
& Re-Employing Adults
Career Resource Center
(CRC) in Lake Forest, Illinois serves as a benchmark for area
non-profit career transition centers. Started over 17 years ago to
address the needs of individuals caught in downsizing and
reduction-in-force activities by local businesses, CRC recognized
early that many adults were not career literate - essentially lacking
the knowledge and skills to quickly regain employment.
CRC provides unique programs and personal support for adults
caught in career transition. These programs have been delivered to
1,000 residents each year by a cadre of over 110 volunteers. CRC
services are comprehensive, including individual advising sessions;
interview training, educational programs, and internet job search.
Clients also have access to PCs, fax machines and reference
materials, and listings of job opportunities.
In keeping with Career Vision's and CRC's common mission of
outreach and education, we have formed a partnership to further
promote our activities to north suburban communities.
