Zen Master to Give Speech and Lead Meditation at LMU
Thich Nhat Hanh, Zen master, poet, peace activist and author of 35 books, is the 2007-08 recipient of the Doshi Family Bridgebuilder Award, given annually to honor an individual dedicated to fostering understanding between cultures, peoples and disciplines. Alumna Sylvia Ciborowski Helps Tribe in Peru on a Fulbright Scholarship
Sylvia Ciborowski's initial goal upon receiving a 2007 Fulbright Scholarship was to study environmental policies in Peru's logging, mining, oil and gas industries. But after she visited the Achuars and decided that the indigenous tribe was being exploited by the oil industry, she realized her research needed a new focus. [read more]

Time is running out to register for the Orange County Loaves & Fishes community service project, "Shopping for School Supplies," on Saturday, Aug. 25. LMU Alum Goes From Actor to Artist
From 1959 to 1963, Dwayne Hickman starred in the CBS situation comedy "The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis," and his fresh, young face was as recognizable as that of David Letterman or CSI's Marg Helgenberger. But as Hickman carved out careers in acting and, later, TV show producing, he privately found immense satisfaction in another creative endeavor: painting. [read more]
