Alert: Grassroots Call-In Nov. 16!
Dear Advocate,

As you are surely aware by now, the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Act is still entrapped in committees in both the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate. On November 16, a grassroots coalition of people affected by paralysis will be visiting Capitol Hill. The goal of these visits is to persuade the chairmen of both committees to finally move the CRPA out of committee, before the end of the 109th Congress.

Unite 2 Fight Paralysis hopes you will take a few minutes to aid these volunteer delegates by making a simple phone call to each of the four committee chairs. You'll find sample phone call scripts and the DC phone numbers below. Our 3-minute phone calls from home or office will pave the way for those that have travelled to Washington for this last-ditch effort.

If you're interested in a cure for paralysis, you need to help these folks out. Just make a few calls!

We're fortunate to have the enthusiasm of such a widely varied group (ranging from a world-famous neuroresearcher to the father of an injured veteran from the war in Iraq). They're volunteering their time and spending their own money to stump Capitol Hill one more time in support of this bill. Be sure to support them by making the simple phone call that might make all the difference.

Please help them in their effort to help us.

Sincerely,

Your Friends at Unite 2 Fight Paralysis

Hi, ________. My name is __________ from ________. I am calling regarding the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Act. Today, a group of people from the paralysis community are visiting the Senator's office. This call is to support their efforts and ask for Senator Enzi's help in moving the CRPA out of the H.E.L.P. committee that he chairs and getting it passed yet this year. Millions of paralyzed Americans and their families would greatly benefit by the passage of this legislation. He holds the power to wrap up this congressional session in a positive way by sending this bill to the senate floor for a vote.
