First Day Check-In Tips:
There is a conference packet with your name badge and ticket coming to you by mail. You'll need these for access to the conference classes and events. If you already have your badge and ticket when you arrive, you do not need to go to Registration; go directly to Show Materials (located by Registration on Level Two of the South Convention Center at Mandalay Bay) to pick up your workbook, lanyard, and show guide.
However, if you do not receive your conference badge and ticket in the mail prior to the conference, there's no reason to fret. Upon arrival you simply need to check-in at Registration. It is helpful to have a copy of your registration confirmation (if you registered by Internet), but it isn't entirely necessary.
Both the Registration and Show Materials counters are located on Level Two of the South Convention Center and open at 7:00am on Thursday, September 6th.

When you arrive, make sure you pick up a Photoshop World Show Guide...think of it as your essential instruction manual for the conference. The Show Guide provides a schedule of all of the class sessions, special events, and after-hours parties, as well as room locations, Tech Expo hall hours, and tons of other useful information.
Attendees who have purchased a Pro Pass can pick up their special Pro Pass materials at the Pro Pass counter (near Registration) on Thursday, September 6th beginning at 7:00am. Photoshop World Pro Passes sold out quickly, so unfortunately none will be available for purchase on opening day.

Photoshop World Q&A:
Here are a few of the most-asked questions by Photoshop World attendees: Q. What's up with this thick workbook?
A. Without a doubt, one of the best things you get at Photoshop World is the conference workbook - more than 700 pages of detailed notes supplied by the instructors, complete with screen captures and graphics that follow right along with your classes. Inside you'll find notes for many of the conference sessions, so you can sit back and soak in the techniques you're learning in class, knowing that you've got detailed notes to refer back to once you're back home. Best of all, you not only get notes for the sessions you attend, but you get them for every conference session, in every track, from every instructor that has provided class materials!
Q. When do we get our workbook?
A. You'll get your Conference Workbook at the Show Materials counter as early as 7:00am on Thursday, September 6th.
Q. Do I need to go to the Registration counter?
A. If you received your entry ticket in the mail, you do not need to go to the Registration counter. Just take your entry ticket right to the Show Materials counter to pick up your workbook, show directory, lanyard and other conference materials.
Q. What if I have a Pro Pass?
A. If you've purchased a Pro Pass, on Thursday morning go directly to the Pro Pass counter (by Registration on the 2nd floor of the South conference center) to pick up all your materials.
Q. What are the Guru Awards prizes and how are the winners selected?
A. The Guru Awards are widely considered one of the most prestigious and coveted honors in the international digital imaging industry. Winners are featured in a special issue of Photoshop User magazine, and are awarded with a trophy, as well as prizes from CDW and Epson. The deadline for entry was August 10, 2007. All entries received were judged by a select team of industry experts and NAPP team members for creativity, technical skill, and originality.
Q. Bonus Tech Expo classes? What are those?
A. In the Tech Expo, there are two theater-style classrooms set up right on the show floor - one sponsored by NAPP, and the other by Microsoft. These bonus sessions will run from 1:00pm to 6:00pm on Thursday, September 6th, and 10:30am to 4:30pm on Friday, September 7th. Far more than mere product demos - these hour-long sessions offer in-depth training just like you'd find in any conference track. A schedule of each day's bonus Tech Expo classes can be found in the Show Guide.
Q. How can I get a ticket to Midnight Madness?
A. Tickets are free, but limited to 200. You can pick up a free ticket at Banyan C - D, beginning at 9:00pm on Friday, September 7th. If you really want to attend this night of laughs, music, libations, and mayhem, get in line early to get your ticket...because they go really fast.
Q. Where can I get a Photoshop World After Hours Party ticket?
A. If you didn't pre-order one with your Pro Pass or when you registered, then unfortunately you can't...because we're all sold out. If you pre-ordered a ticket, it should have arrived in your attendee packet.
Q. What happens in the Portfolio Reviews?
A. Professional photographers will review your portfolio (hardcopy or laptop) providing invaluable feedback and helpful tips on how to better present your work. Time and space is limited, so sign up early at Tech Expo Booth 621 in the Tech Expo.
Q. What's the deal with the Job Fair?
A. NAPP has partnered with CreativeHeads.net, the most comprehensive recruitment software solution for creative professionals, to provide access to job opportunities from across multiple creative content industries including video games, digital animation, TV & film, advertising & marketing, and architectural design from such employers as Pixar, Sony, Midway, Disney, Warner Bros, BioWare, and many others. The Photoshop World Job Fair can be found in the back of the Tech Expo (Shorelines B), and will be open to NAPP members only on Thursday, September 6th, and open to all Tech Expo visitors on Friday, September 7th.
Q. Can You Explain "Dinner With a Stranger?"
A. Dinner with a Stranger is a unique after-hours networking event that will take place on Thursday, September 6th, from 7:30pm to 9:30pm. This is your chance to have dinner with fellow Photoshop addicts, make new friends, trade "war stories," and enjoy some of the best food Las Vegas has to offer. Reservations are at three different restaurants near the convention center for a maximum of 12 people each. You can sign up the morning of opening day at the Registration counter.
Q. Is there Internet access?
A. You can get complimentary wireless Internet service at the NAPP/Peachpit Press Bookstore (booth 300 in the Tech Expo). Keep in mind that this is a shared connection, so the speed at which data will download or upload is dependant on the number of people online at any given time. So, feel free to check your email or surf the Internet, but actions such as pulling down plug-ins or sending digital slideshows are probably best done back at your hotel room.
Q. Can I video or tape the sessions?
A. Unfortunately, there is no video or audio recording of any kind permitted during the conference sessions.
Q. What is Help Desk Live?
A. It's a place to get one-on-one answers to your Photoshop questions directly from NAPP's own Help Desk Director, Peter Bauer. You'll find the Help Desk in the South Seas Foyer North. The Help Desk is only open during Tech Expo hours.
Q. Is the Tech Expo open on Saturday?
A. Nope, sorry...the Tech Expo is only open on Thursday and Friday. The ideal time for you to attend is Thursday from 1:00 to 6:00pm because there are no class sessions going on. You may bring a guest to the Tech Expo at no additional cost, but only on Thursday - go to the registration counter for a guest wristband.
